The 10th anniversary editions of Du Motion – Runners’ Days Dubrovnik and Ohrid Running Weekend did not only mark two important race milestones, but also celebrated ten years of friendship, cooperation and a shared vision for the development of running in the region. In this symbolic year, Du Motion received a special recognition from the organizers of Ohrid TrčaT, as a gesture of gratitude for its exceptional contribution to sport and long-standing connection between the two cities and their running communities.

In their official announcement, the Ohrid Running Weekend team stated that they recognize Du Motion “for their exceptional contribution to the development of sports, running and racing events, as well as for the long-standing cooperation and connection between Ohrid and Dubrovnik”. They emphasized that this recognition comes in a special year for both races – 10 years of Ohrid Running Weekend and 10 years of Du Motion – as a symbol of a decade of friendship, partnership and shared vision.

Over the past ten years, the teams from Dubrovnik and Ohrid have regularly visited each other, exchanged experience and supported one another – from sending running teams to each other’s races to building organizational partnerships and promoting both destinations. What started as cooperation between two events has long since grown into a wider story of community, travel, new friendships and shared goals.

This year’s recognition is all the more meaningful because it comes at a moment when Du Motion celebrates a record-breaking 10th edition, welcoming almost 3,000 runners from 55 countries to the streets of Dubrovnik, while Ohrid Running Weekend marks its own 10-year journey at Lake Ohrid. Both events share the same idea – to show that a running event is much more than just a race.

For Du Motion, which has positioned itself as “more than a race” from the very beginning, this recognition carries special weight: it confirms that values like openness, collaboration and mutual support between organizers are seen and appreciated.

The organizers of Du Motion thanked their friends from Ohrid and emphasized how much it means to them that the recognition comes from partners with whom they have shared trails, starting lines and finishes for ten years. They emphasized that they see this recognition as confirmation that running can connect cities and countries just as strongly as culture or tourism, and that they look forward to all future shared stories, new editions of the races and meetings of runners between the sea and the lake.

The message is clear: ten years are behind us, but the most beautiful shared stories are yet to come.
